Briggs Hill Historic Estate
The Briggs Estate was originally built in the early 1900’s for George and Effie Briggs as the most prominent house in the Fair Oaks neighborhood. The house was designed in the Classic Colonial architectural style by well-known MIT architect and author Willard D. Brown, also a Lexington resident. In the early 1900’s Mr. Brown designed distinguished Lexington buildings such as the Cary Memorial Library and the homes of other prominent residents including philanthropist Josiah Willard Hayden.
